[Mechanical Design and Machine Design]-

Tasks for the week:

Assignments-:

1.automate your machine.

2.document the group project and your individual contribution.

In this week, we are going to automate the machine. I had taken the responsibility of handling teem lead and assembly part.

My contribution this week:

-{THE ZHERO}-

The Zero is a robotic arm having 4 degrees of freedom, designed to be mounted on any surface and to work with various end effectors, through a modular design.

The arm currently is designed for the accute purpose of engraving over flat surfaces.

The structure of the arm has been inspired out of the MeArm and other high end robotic arm, to find a mid way solution that could solve our purpose the easy way.

As mentioned, my team mates prepared the The Zero for the assembly, So initially I contributed by rendering views out of the The Zero that can be used as a part of the documentation.

The MDF Attempt:- Then after the a few calculations we had designed this arm to test the mecanisms, in between of which we had manufactured the MeArm just to figure out the linkage mechanism used, after which we had designed an arm for which we tested all the joints for basic movements.

We roughly observed the maximum and minimum reach.

After a long discussion we fixed our arm lengths to 350mm and 400mm.

responsive

Then we draw the linkages with dimension on white board and everyone choose parts for 3D designing....

responsive

Then I design the parts in solidwork

After this we did some modification and I cut the parts in MDF..

We connect our linkages and Our arm stand-up here....

Later this week, we discussed about the components that would required. A few components were unavailable at our Lab, hence, being the locality, I went to source them in the city.

Rohan,Chaitanya,Rutvij,Sanket had prepared the list of mechanical and electrical components that would be required, hence they went to source materials from that list. Fabricating the components was done by my team-mates, and I helped them assemble the components. All in all each of us contributed by helping each other at every stage required. It was a fun week with good team spirit and co-ordination.

These are a few renders that I did for this week. These renders were based on the initial assembly that we planned for. The idea behind these

We are working electronic parts

This is the second week in which we have to actuate and automate our machine. Considering my background, I'm not engineering. So, this week of make a machine is really beyond my league. but I want to learn the electronics part. So, I decided to help Arefin and Rutvij for selection of motor, wiring part, etc. Also I made design for fixing the electronics stuff like drivers, etc.

For this, we get 6 motors from our lab. So, we have to check them. we went with the software named as GRBL Gru, this is again a software used for X-Y plotters. So we followed the schematic as seen here..

Here we are check about motor how to work

After which I sat to make the cad files of each inorder too get a rouch idea of the assembly, becasuse we had planned to get this manufactured in acrylic itself as our final product. Hence this was the final assembly that we had got.

ARM Final

responsive

THis was probably the things we had pulled out in the initial week of machine, which I was directly involved into.

Rest a few if things I had learnt in the programming too, that could be found

Programming and electronic parts

Programming and electronic parts done by Arefin and Rutvij and some warining parts Komal and i have done

The working mechanism of the arm as follows:

After this we cut the acrylic parts and assembled the arm. Then me and Arifen move towards electronics part. We understand the total electronics part from arefin and then I made MDF plate for placed the all drivers and electronics stuff....
Then me and Arifen did all the connections or wiring as follows

Final video about robotic ARM:-

Learning Outcomes-

-Work and communicate effectively in a team and independently
-Design, plan and build a system
-Analyze and solve technical problems
-Recognize opportunities for improvements in the design

In this assignment I learned about Machine Design Programming which is really best for experiment the Machine Design and ,aapintentor Good experience in gorp work.
